Tosca Ballerini

Hello! I’m a research scientist and journalist. I have worked as marine biologist and ecosystem modeller in Italian, American, and French universities and as a freelance journalist for French and Italian newspapers and NGOs.

I’ve conducted fieldwork in mangroves forests in Mozambique, in the Mediterranean Sea, and on a penguin colony in Antarctica. I’m a passionate sailor (and soon a sailing instructor too!).

Since 2017 I develop and coordinate citizen science projects to study plastic pollution and promote environmental awareness.

I support research activities with internal / external communication, editing, data analysis, and event organization.

Based between France and Italy and working in Italian, English, and French, I’m available for research, science communication, and reporting.
